Text Box: About Our Church

My wife and I attended the Philadelphia Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee one night in the month of May, 1958.  The preacher preached on hell and where people would go if they were not saved.  The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and convicted me that this was where I was headed if I did not get saved.

I went forward during the invitation and publicly invited Jesus Christ into my heart and life and told the Lord that I was repenting of my sins and to please save me.  I was saved that night and God sealed my name in the Book of Life.

One week later I started preaching on the streets of Chattanooga and in 53 years have not gone over three weeks without preaching somewhere.  I am a born again believer and called to be a missionary until I die or the Lord raptures us up to meet Him.

I was saved when I was 13 years old during a church camp in California.  I was married for 34 years until the Lord took my husband home in 2008. In 2009, I surrendered to be a missionary during a mission's conference.

Ms. Stringer sent me some information about Source Light Ministries and recommended that I fill out the application and see what God will do.  I did and the board wanted to come for an interview.  I was accepted and I am so happy to be a small part of SLM.

I will be training to work in the Fields Department as a Regional Director for North & Central America, South America and Africa.  There will be some traveling involved to check on the Discipleship Training Branches and visit the Directors (national missionaries) to make sure they are doing well with SLM.

Though I was raised in a Christian home, it wasn’t until I went to a youth camp at age 15 that I understood my sin, realized my need of a Savior and put my faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.  My wife Lori was also raised in a Christian home and also trusted Christ at a young age.

In Bible college the Lord slowly worked in both of our lives to direct our attention to the mission field more and more.  When I graduated, I was able to spend 6 months in Peru before helping to start Vision Baptist Church.

Every step of the way, He has given us more of a desire for missions and has been preparing us for the ministry. We are thrilled about His leading to Thailand.

Through the prayers of a Godly mother and father, I was saved by the grace of God on February 27th, 1966. I began praying for my wife Kay and she was saved exactly one month later.  While at Calvary Baptist Church in National City, CA, we would visit our mission in Tijuana, Mexico where I began to feel my call me to missions.

In October 1977, I surrendered to the perfect will of God to come to Baja, Mexico. Now, over twenty-five years later, I want to thank the Lord for calling me, and a faithful wife who has stood by me.

God has allowed us to have a ministry of church planting, Scripture distribution, preaching, training national pastors, and teaching in the Bible Institute.

My wife Amber and I were both raised in Christian homes and saved at an early age. As 9 year old children, the Lord moved in both of our hearts and called us to share His love with those in other lands.

The Lord has burdened our hearts for the Muslim people of the Middle East, and has called us to take the light of the Gospel to these precious people.  We have recently returned from our survey trip, and we are praying to be on the ground in Northern Iraq by Spring of 2012.

God has blessed me with my wife Amber and three children, Trey who is six, Johanna our precious three year old and Clay who will be turning six months old very soon.  We look forward to serving God in the Northern Iraq soon.
